You will find traces of The Beatles at nearly every turn in modern Liverpool. But don't overlook their many predecessors, like Britain's first great rock'n'roller Billy Fury, or their contemporaries in the 1960s Merseybeat movement that would revolutionise pop culture.

Festivals and Clubs are Liverpool's speciality with a varied concoction to suit all. Whether it's be a trance weekend like Creamfields or a tribute week to The Beatles, Liverpool has it all on offer.

Merseybeat, is a pop music genre that developed in the United Kingdom in the early 1960s. Beat music is a fusion of rock and roll, doo wop, skiffle, R&B and soul. The beat movement provided most of the bands responsible for the British invasion of the American pop charts in the period after 1964, and provided the model for many important developments in pop and rock music.

The Beatles first hit the world stage a staggering 50 years ago and are still very much well known and respected today.

Liverpool holds an annual event attracting an international audience to pay tribute to the fab four over the August bank holiday weekend. This is attended by thousands of Beatles fans, were they get the chance to commemorate the success of the most famous band in the history of pop music.

Liverpool also homes a number of Beatles themed attractions which each create a fascining insight into the lives of John, Paul, Ringo and George. The Beatles Story, Mendips & Forthlin Road and The Magical Mystery Tour are all exciting attractions telling the story of how BeatleMania evolved and the highlights along the way.
